Stabilization of excavation for sewer construction - Jacovce, Slovakia

Works were performed within reconstruction of the sewer system in the community of Jacovce (Slovakia). Continuous collapsing of the walls of the excavation occurred in the problematic section, long approx. 150 m, due to which, it was not possible to finish the sewer construction. The depth of the sewer reached in this section approx. 5 m, in an environment of saturated sand and gravel.

GEOPUR grouting technology was used in order to solve the problem. Two rows of grouted micropiles R32 were installed along both walls of the planned excavation. Proposed and undertaken measures secured safe excavation works into the required depth, and enabled finishing of the problematic sewer section construction.
